Baby Blanket Crochet Pattern or Throw
If you have been looking through different patterns, searching for the perfect baby blanket or throw, search no more! I had so much fun creating this crochet pattern. I decided to use the Block Stitch to give it some texture and some visual interest and you can customize it with any color combination you want. Since I learned how to crochet using online tutorials, my patterns really walk you through how to change the size, count your rows, create the stitch, and more. I even include a Crochet Conversion Chart so my friends in the US and the UK have no problem creating my patterns!
This Block Stitch Baby Blanket is fantastic as a baby blanket or even a full size throw. In this pattern, you will find how to increase the size (working in multiples) and I’ve included photos of what your project should look like as we progress. The picture below demonstrates the kind of photos I include to help you keep accurate count of your rows and color scheme.
All you need to know to create this blanket is knowledge of the chain stitch, single crochet stitch, half double crochet stitch, and the double crochet stitch. Easy enough, right? It is the combination of these stitches that creates this intricate block stitch. I would say that the difficulty level for this blanket is Easy to Intermediate, but I only say “intermediate” because of the border. It can be tricky to crochet down the sides of the blanket, but don’t worry…I’ve included a photo tutorial for that also! I’ll show you exactly where to place your hook so you end up with a beautiful, even border.
